Founded by Wisconsin techs

Three founding teams, one Wisconsin company

LocalSpindle was started by techs who grew up here and have spent their careers fixing the machines Wisconsin runs on. Engineering backgrounds, years in the field, and teams based right in your region, so the tech who shows up already knows the roads, the industrial parks and the kind of work your town does.

Milwaukee

Southeast Wisconsin. Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, Racine, Kenosha and Sheboygan counties.

Madison

South central Wisconsin. Dane, Rock, Jefferson, Dodge, Sauk and Green counties.

Green Bay

Northeast Wisconsin and the Fox Valley. Brown, Outagamie, Winnebago, Fond du Lac and Manitowoc counties.

Our techs were born and raised in Wisconsin, know machine repair and understand the industrial machine industry. We’ve built a reputation over the last 10 years, and we’re just getting started. As one of the fastest growing CNC repair services in Wisconsin, and part of a brand that stretches nationwide, our technical experience and our ability to work around problems others get stuck on have made us a leader.

Now, with the reach of several brands we represent as an authorized dealer, including the well recognized and respected HACO line of CNC and industrial machines, we can sell our customers new machines at some of the most affordable prices in the market.

Experience matters

Why shops call a LocalSpindle tech first

A machine that’s down costs you every hour it sits. The fastest way back is a tech who has seen your failure before and knows how to find the cause, not just the part that alarmed. That’s what our founders built this company on: years of Wisconsin field work, engineering training, and the habit of explaining what went wrong in plain words.

We work on old iron and new. A twenty-year-old vertical mill that still makes money, a Swiss-type running medical parts in Dane County, a press brake in a Fox Valley fab shop, a robot cell tending lathes in Waukesha County. Same approach every time: listen, measure, trace it, fix it, and write down what we did.

Repair

What we repair across Wisconsin

Twenty-two kinds of equipment, from the machine tools at the heart of a job shop to the presses, robots and lines around them. Pick yours for symptoms, what we check and brands we know.

CNC mill & machining center repair

Verticals, horizontals and 5-axis machines: axis alarms, tool changers, lube, ballscrews and crash checks.

CNC lathe & turning center repair

Turning centers and Swiss-types: turret index, chuck pressure, bar feeders, sub-spindles and live tools.

CNC control & drive repair

Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, Mazatrol, Okuma OSP and more: alarms, dead screens, lost parameters, drive faults.

Spindle repair & rebuild

Noise, heat, runout and drawbar problems found on site, and spindles rebuilt when the bearings are done.

Servo motor repair & rebuild

Overload and encoder alarms traced to the cause, drives repaired, servo motors rebuilt with new bearings and seals.

Preventive maintenance

Scheduled visits that measure the same things every time and catch wear before it turns into a breakdown.

Press brake & shear repair

Hydraulic and electric brakes and shears: backgauges, crowning, synchronization, light curtains, blades.

Punch, turret & stamping press repair

Turret punches and stamping presses: clutch and brake, index, tooling stations, feeds and guarding.

Ironworker repair

Hydraulic ironworkers: pumps, cylinders, strippers, punch and shear stations, and worn tooling.

Band, cold & cutoff saw repair

Production saws that cut crooked or stall: guides, tension, vises, feeds and hydraulics.

Fiber laser & plasma cutter repair

Fiber and CO2 lasers and plasma tables: cut quality, motion, height control, chillers and gas.

Waterjet repair

Pumps, intensifiers, cutting heads, abrasive delivery and the motion system.

EDM repair (wire & sinker)

Threading, generator faults, filtration and dielectric, and accuracy problems on wire and sinker EDMs.

Grinder repair

Surface, cylindrical and tool grinders: wheelheads, hydraulics, ways, chatter and finish.

Plate roll & tube bender repair

Plate and section rolls and CNC tube benders: hydraulics, rolls, mandrels, controls.

CNC router repair

Wood, plastic and aluminum routers: spindles, vacuum, gantry drives, tool changers and controls.

Robot & automation cell repair

Tending, welding and palletizing robots: faults, encoders, grippers, vision and safety circuits.

PLC & industrial controls repair

PLCs, HMIs, I/O and panels: faults found, programs backed up and lines brought back.

Injection molding machine repair

Hydraulic, electric and hybrid presses: heats, screws and checks, clamps, ejectors, controls.

Conveyor & packaging line repair

Conveyors, wrappers, case packers and line equipment: drives, belts, sensors and controls.

Hydraulic & pneumatic repair

Pumps, valves, cylinders and air systems: leaks, pressure loss, heat and slow motion.

Motor & VFD repair

Motors and drives that trip, overheat or growl: diagnosis, replacement and drive setup.

Rebuilds

Rebuild or repair? We'll tell you straight

Some failures are a fix on the spot: a sensor, a lube line, a drive fault with a clear cause. Others mean the part is worn out, and patching it just books the next breakdown. Spindles and servo motors are the big ones. When the bearings are gone, we rebuild them with new bearings, seals and balance work, and put them back in with the alignment checked.

You get the options laid out with prices before anything comes off the machine: repair, rebuild, or replace with a new or exchange unit.

Start to finish

How a service call works

Every call follows the same five steps, so whoever is running the floor always knows what happens next.

01

Call a tech

Tell us the machine, the control and the alarm or symptom. Text a photo of the screen if you can. The person who answers knows machines.

02

Sort it on the phone

Some calls end right there: a parameter, a door switch, a reset order. If not, we tell you what we suspect and what we’re bringing.

03

Closest team rolls

The Milwaukee, Madison or Green Bay team closest to your shop takes the job, with the meters, tools and common parts it’s likely to need.

04

Fix the cause

We find why it failed, not just what failed, and fix it on site when we can. Parts that have to be ordered get a price and lead time before anything is ordered.

05

Write it down

You get a short written summary: what failed, what we did, what to watch, and whether a rebuild or a PM visit would stop it coming back.
