Spindle and servo motor rebuilds in Wisconsin

Repair or rebuild, our Wisco teams have you covered. When a spindle, servo motor or other critical part is worn out, patching it books the next breakdown. We rebuild it, put it back in with the alignment checked, and tell you why it failed.

Quick answerLocalSpindle of Wisconsin rebuilds CNC spindles and servo motors and reconditions turrets, tool changers and hydraulic components. We diagnose on the machine first, quote repair, rebuild and replacement side by side, then remove, rebuild, reinstall and test, with a written report on what failed and why.

How rebuilds work

Repair first when repair is right

Not every noisy spindle needs a rebuild, and not every servo alarm means a bad motor. Our techs diagnose on the machine before anything comes off: runout and drawbar force on spindles, insulation, windings and encoder signals on servo motors, pressures and leakage on hydraulics. When the fix is a sensor, a cable, a drawbar spring pack or a valve, we do that and leave the rest alone.

When a rebuild makes sense

Bearings that are worn, seals that let coolant in, encoders that are contaminated, and parts that have taken a crash all point to a rebuild. A rebuild usually costs less than a new unit and comes back to the same specification. You get the rebuild price next to the price of a new or exchange unit, along with turnaround times, and you choose.

If we open something up and find more damage than expected, a cracked housing or a damaged shaft, you hear about it before more money is spent.

What you get back

A rebuilt spindle comes back with new precision bearings and seals, a serviced drawbar, balance work and a run-in. A rebuilt servo motor comes back with new bearings and seals, tested windings and a serviced or replaced encoder, aligned so it’s ready to run. We reinstall it, check runout, temperature or axis performance on your machine, and write down the numbers.

The report also says why it failed: a crash, coolant ingress, contaminated air, lubrication, or simple hours. That’s the part that keeps the next one from failing early.

FAQ

Rebuild questions

Still wondering? Call (414) 381-0127 and ask a tech.

Yes. We remove, rebuild and reinstall spindles from machining centers, lathes, grinders and routers, and check them on the machine afterward.

Yes, with new bearings and seals, winding tests and encoder service or replacement.

Usually. You’ll see both prices before deciding.

It depends on the part and parts availability. You get the turnaround with the quote.

Yes. Every rebuild comes with a written note on the cause.

Call us about it. We’ll look at the machine and tell you honestly whether rebuilding major parts, a retrofit or a replacement makes the most sense.
